Who We Are:

Our group owns and operates The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival + BC Shop Local. We travel across the lower mainland, visiting cities such as Langley, Surrey, Coquitlam, Chilliwack, Abbotsford and many others, hosting up to 20 local events per year featuring. Our events feature food trucks, local artisan market vendors, beer and wine, live music and additional community-focused activations

Our Current Challenge/Opportunity

We are looking for students to assist us with the business development of our core B2B event offerings.

Our goal is to simplify our operations and diversify our income streams while providing the greatest amount of value to our vendors. After years of working with large corporate clients, we want to carve our niche in activations for corporations through events + food trucks. Our Shop Local network also has over 7.5k business members which we would like to utilize to drive revenue through additional value-added services.

Deliverables

The Project

The project may include, but is not limited to:

  • Analyzing costs and revenues to create a templated event fee structure to use in the sales negotiations for corporate clients.
  • Analysis + recommendations on creative ways to reduce costs or increase revenues through our current revenue streams.
  • Identifying opportunities for new revenue streams or creative ways to capture a greater market share in the industry.
  • The final project deliverable includes a report containing research, analysis, and recommendations. It should assist our ownership team in successfully prospecting within our target market with actionable recommendations.
Mentorship

Students will work closely with the company owners who are available for questions. This will also include weekly or bi-weekly progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival ("GVFTF") is Canada's largest roaming food truck festival. The GVFTF consists of a wide selection of food trucks, local market makers and creators, live entertainment and so much more. We are a for-profit organization that relies on vendor fees and sponsorships to bring these events to your favourite local communities at no cost, or minimal cost, to the public.

At the GVFTF we believe in bringing the community together to support the amazing local businesses within it. Guests have the ability to try food trucks they may have never eaten from before, or they can also shop local businesses in the BC Shop Local market. They can also sit and enjoy local talent from BC's incredible entertainers. We strive to provide value through experiences that are unique to our festival that make guests want to come back for more.

The GVFTF is also a local small business co-owned by two KPU school of business grads.
