The goal is to simplify the process of booking beauty services while empowering independent professionals to build visibility, credibility, and sustainable income.
This project aims to support the launch and early growth strategy of Glowvat by helping define:
- Who our key users are (clients and pros)
- What value they’re looking for
- How we can attract and retain them through smart, user-focused marketing
- How to differentiate from larger platforms like Booksy or Fresha
The experience will allow students to apply marketing, research, and business development skills to a real, early-stage venture, with room for creativity and strategic thinking.
Students will work on one or more of the following deliverables depending on their course focus:
- User Research & Persona Development
- Clear profiles of target users (both clients and professionals) including motivations, pain points, and key decision factors.
- Competitor Benchmarking Report
- A comparison of Glowvat and other beauty platforms (e.g., Booksy, Bobell, Fresha), identifying opportunities for differentiation and improvement.
- Go-To-Market Strategy (for Launch in Canada)
- A phased marketing plan covering launch tactics, user acquisition strategies, channel recommendations, and budget-conscious ideas for early growth.
- Customer Journey Mapping
- A visual overview of the user experience — from first interaction to repeat bookings — with ideas to reduce friction and build trust.
- Retention & Loyalty Tactics
- Creative strategies for keeping users engaged (e.g., referral programs, rebooking reminders, reviews, or in-app rewards).
- (Optional) Glowvat Pitch Deck or Executive Summary
- A short business presentation or one-pager summarizing the brand’s mission, opportunity, and vision — great for investor or partner use.
Each deliverable should be presented in a clean format (Google Slides, Docs, PDF, etc.). A short walkthrough or Q&A session may be scheduled at the end to share insights and recommendations.
Providing specialized knowledge in the project subject area, with industry context.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
