This project aims to conduct a comprehensive assessment of current cybersecurity practices in selected North American public sector organizations and develop a tailored cybersecurity framework based on the findings.Key project components:


  1. Assessment of Current Practices: Conduct a thorough review of cybersecurity practices in selected public sector organizations.
  2. Framework Development: Develop a tailored cybersecurity framework incorporating:
  3. Deliverables: Comprehensive Assessment Report:Detailed analysis of current cybersecurity practices
  4. Tailored Cybersecurity Framework Document: Detailed framework incorporating zero trust architecture, threat intelligence, and incident response protocols
  5. Executive Summary: High-level overview of key findings and recommendations


This focused approach will provide a thorough understanding of the current cybersecurity landscape in the North American public sector and deliver a customized framework to enhance cybersecurity resilience.

Deliverables

Tasks:

  1. Conduct cybersecurity practice assessment: Review documentation of current cybersecurity practices in one selected organization
  2. Identify vulnerabilities and improvement areas: Analyze collected data to identify top 3-5 critical vulnerabilities
  3. Review existing policies: Analyze current cybersecurity policy of the selected organization
  4. Develop tailored cybersecurity framework: Design a basic framework incorporating zero trust principles
  5. Formulate critical infrastructure protection recommendations: Develop 3-5 key recommendations for enhancing critical infrastructure security


Deliverables:

  1. Assessment Report (10-15 pages): Executive summary
  2. Cybersecurity Framework Outline (5-7 pages): Framework overview
  3. Executive Summary Presentation (5-7 slides): Key findings from the assessment


Mentorship
  • Weekly 60-minute check-in meetings with the project lead at Segment/SectorPulse to discuss progress, answer questions, and provide direction.
  • Access to a dedicated Teams channel for quick queries and support between meetings.
  • A workshop on creating effective executive summaries and presentations.
  • Two rounds of detailed feedback on draft deliverables from experienced cybersecurity professionals.
  • A final one-on-one session to discuss project outcomes and potential next steps in cybersecurity career development.
