The focus of this project will include: Conducting a competitive landscape assessment of career platforms (e.g. TealHQ, Zety, Rezi, SkillBoost, etc.) Clarifying ViaSkill’s unique value proposition and identifying how we differentiate in a crowded market Evaluating our current messaging (e.g. website, email sequences, landing pages) Identifying ideal customer segments (e.g. mid-career professionals, creatives, job switchers, students) Recommending improvements to brand voice, visuals, and PR materials Conducting an SEO/keyword audit and suggesting strategies to improve search visibility 🛠 What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal? Our mission is to make career growth proactive, not reactive—especially for people who feel stuck, overlooked, or uncertain about how to tell their professional story. We’re looking to collaborate with a student team to create a 6–8 minute institutional video that powerfully tells the story of ViaSkill: the problem we solve, the people we serve, and how we’re using AI to help professionals grow with clarity and confidence. This video will serve as both a brand storytelling asset and a reflection of our founding vision—something we can share on our website, social media, and in investor or partner pitches. This project will involve several steps, including: Conducting background research on our product, audience, and vision Using AI tools (e.g., storyboard generators, transcript summarizers, visual planning aids) to shape the creative direction Interviewing our founder (Grace Cupat) and optionally simulating user stories or testimonials Capturing platform walkthroughs, screen recordings, or visualizations Producing a well-paced, emotionally resonant 6–8 minute video with clean edits, music, titles, and transitions 🛠 What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal? As a growing startup, we want to ensure that new and returning users can navigate the platform clearly, confidently, and efficiently—without confusion or friction. We would like to collaborate with students to conduct usability tests of key areas of the ViaSkill platform, such as: Project Tracker (achievement capture + skill inference) Portfolio Generator (AI-driven career portfolio builder) Resume Generator (ATS-optimized resume creation) User onboarding and dashboard flows The goal is to understand what’s working well and where users get stuck—so we can improve clarity, reduce drop-off, and elevate the overall experience. This will involve several steps for students, including: Familiarizing themselves with ViaSkill’s product and user journey Helping define usability goals and tasks to test Recruiting users (we may provide test users or allow students to simulate realistic user types) Running moderated or unmoderated usability tests and capturing observations Analyzing the results and recommending actionable changes (Optional) Creating annotated mockups or flow suggestions 🛠 What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal? What digital channels (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, newsletters, etc.) offer the best opportunity for engagement and conversions? What advertising budget would be realistic for an early-stage startup—and how should we allocate it? What performance metrics should we track to gauge ROI and campaign effectiveness?
