Closest Closet - Startup Growth & Financial Business Plan
We are excited to be at the point where we are ready to scale closestcloset.com nationally after proving the concept locally in Chicago, IL with a physical store. We have 2 years of financials, 2 founders, 3 employees to make this project a great learning experience. You can learn more about Closest Closet, the problem we are solving, the opportunity and why we are the solution here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/10_mlKnY-BhwipoJ6O7aGNlcOH43Ex9L0P1YnlFLP_xg/edit?usp=sharing With any launch, having a financial plan is one of the keys to success, and we would like to involve students in creating one for our unique business. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Learning about our business strategy from various employees to become familiar with our goals, mission, and products. Creating forecasts using Google Sheets (or another financial software) for sales in the first year of operation as well as an income projection (conservative and aggressive). Working with our team to develop an expense budget. Conducting a break-even analysis timeline using financial projections. Reporting on projected assets and liabilities. Including visual comparisons such as graphs and charts to show the differences between the conservative and aggressive income projection.
Digital Marketing Intern
Closest Closet is an online social marketplace where members are able to post their gently used fashion items and accessories to earn instant credits that they can then use to shop other members items for free. Our mission is to reduce the impact fashion is having on the environment while giving everyone a cost effective way to shop secondhand. We have a marketing plan and are seeking entrepreneurial interns to help execute it. We would like to collaborate with students to help create content (copy, emails, social, video), build partnerships with affiliates and influencers, run paid media campaigns via Google ads, meta, tiktok etc, and improve SEO. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our target market, products and services. Reviewing marketing content in the form of posts, emails, brochures, etc. Deploying content according to our social media calendar to increase website traffic. Deploying email campaigns Overseeing our channels and keeping them up-to-date. Recommending search engine optimization (SEO) strategies so our materials are easily accessible.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our company’s products, marketing goals and target market. Researching factors affecting the quality of digital content. Recommending changes to existing digital content and designing new social media posts and emails. Recommending and designing new digital content not already used by our company. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing and improving designs based on feedback.
