Eye Health Awareness Campaign for Social Media

The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington aims to increase awareness about eye health and promote healthy vision habits among young adults. The project involves developing a digital eye health awareness campaign specifically tailored for TikTok and Instagram Reels. These platforms are popular among the target demographic, making them ideal for disseminating educational content. The campaign should creatively engage viewers, providing them with practical tips on eye care and the importance of regular eye check-ups. The project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of digital marketing, content creation, and health communication. The goal is to create a series of engaging, informative, and shareable short videos that can effectively convey the message and encourage positive behavioral changes in eye health practices.

Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Organization Eyeglasses Clinic

We're looking for a team of 4-5 MBA students to act as consultants to our organization on a comprehensive plan that puts every discipline the students have learned in their program to work. We have been in operation since 1936. We have an annual budget of approx. $10, and are aimed towards strategic growth. Certain programs may need a detailed drill-down to improve processes, reduce expenses, and increase profitability of this earned revenue program for our nonprofit. POB’s Affordable Eyeglasses Clinic provides prescription eyeglasses to individuals who need eyeglasses but cannot afford their full cost. Eyeglasses start at $40, including frames. Each year, we provide more than 1,000 local residents with eyeglasses at a price they can afford. We have proudly provided this vital service to our local community for more than 20 years.

Marketing & Communication Strategy - Social Enterprise (Nonprofit Resale Shop)

Many of the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (POB)’s vital, community-based programs are supported through the operation of our Look Again Resale Shops . Our shops accept donations of gently used household items such as antiques, furniture, bric-a-brac, collectibles, clothing, books, and other items. Our inventory changes daily - each visit to our shops is a treasure hunt! Proceeds benefit the vital, community-based mission of the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington. We have (2) stores - 1 in Kensington, Maryland and 1 in Alexandria, Virginia. Our stores have been operating for as long as 28 years. All items sold at the store have been donated by our local community. The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington would like to develop a marketing/communications plan. As a small nonprofit with limited resources (staffing, knowledge, funds, etc.) we do experience some difficulties producing content and maintaining an online presence as those tasks can be challenging and time consuming. We hope that students will keep in mind the limitations of the organization, (budget and other constraints) to ensure these recommendations are realistic and actionable. We are open to short term and long term recommendations. Our customers and demographic at each location are different. Project Goals: To develop or help to create the skeleton of a marketing/communications plan. Make recommendations for mapping our operational processes. Make social media campaign recommendations. Recommend improvements to optimize our organization. Look at the data from the results of Facebook, Twitter and Mailchimp reports and design a template for interpreting an disseminating the information. Review email practices and analyze for improvements. Online store analysis, promotions, etc. Other operational/marketing suggestions or recommendations that come out of the student's work. We hope to implement changes that will help us increase our online presence and brand awareness that will hopefully translate to increased sales. We are open to discussion around some of the project goals/ specifics.
